Gala apple growth habits

The ripening period is from late August to early September each year, and early-maturing varieties can be put on the market in July. Young trees bear fruit early, have a high fruit set rate, and are easy to manage. Gala apples grown in warmer areas of the United States are usually the first to ripen, while Gala apples grown in colder areas ripen in September. Apples in New Zealand usually ripen from February to March.
